Then select sound settings from the left menu, then general from the top menu. To turn mounted music off, go to your System Config menu by pressing ESC on your keyboard and selecting it from the menu.
To help with auto-advancing, or full out skipping cutscenes, you can try out the changes below:
By default, you’ll only have 2 turned on, but there are up to 10 available. Hotbars are able to be turned on or off at any time. When on, the color of the item will change from gray to white. Additionally, you can right-click on items to toggle their display on/off. Once you are on the HUD Layout you want to modify, simply left-click and drag to move items around. However, these allow you to setup different HUD layouts to use for different scenarios/situations. At the start, these will all be the same as one another. Once opening the HUD Layout, 4 HUD Layouts appear. Your journey to a customized HUD layout begins with opening FFXIV’s main menu and then proceeding to the “HUD Layout” option. While FFXIV does not allow the use of addons, the game comes with a highly customizable UI, allowing you to tweak and alter things to perfectly fit your needs. For some games, such as World of Warcraft, changing the UI requires extensive addons with complex customization rules and methods. To name a few problems, there are only 24 buttons visible, buffs/debuffs applied to you are spread all across the top, and the enemy’s cast bar may be too small to readily notice.
The default FFXIV user interface layout leaves a lot to be desired.
